BETTY

My name is Betty and I am the founder of Betty's Daycare and a registered Ofsted child minder in Henley-on-Thames.

I was born In Cyprus but have lived with my family in Henley-On-Thames since 1990. I live with my husband Can and have 2 children, Yassy and Karl. Yassy now works alongside me Full-Time while Karl now lives in Hampshire following his university degree.

I know that the first few years of a child's development are the most important, that is why I follow the recommendations of nationally approved standards throughout my curriculum. I positively encourage learning through planned activities and via play orientated education. Unlike a Nursery, my home setting is cosy and is limited to fewer early years children at any one time, this means a better one to one bond with each child, a gain in their trust and ability to teach them and follow progress on a more personal level. Most of the children in my care stay with me from a few months old all the way up to School age.

I am constantly upgrading the space with the best books, IT equipment, toys and learning tools, as well as improving myself by keeping up to date in certificates or diplomas for my teaching skills.

KRISS

Hi I'm Kriss and I'm the Early learning Assistant at Betty's Daycare!

I have been with the Betty's Daycare team since 2019. Before I became the Early learning assistant I studied IT, Computer Science & Engineering at UTC College. I then proceeded to advance my career by working at a corporation (Ultima) as an  IT support engineer.

I consider myself to be a very imaginative, intelligent and organised individual, which helps me create fun and interactive games with the children. I think this is important during their early stages of brain development for healthy brain growth. I aim to help children progress in new skills so that they become more rounded individuals and become passionate about multiple subjects. It is important for children to not only experience creative subjects, but also theoretical, more educational subjects.

Furthermore, I strive to be fun and friendly so the children feel comfortable and safe here at Betty's Daycare. I want all the children to feel that they are in an accommodating and nurturing environment.

YASSY

Hi I am Yassy! I am the Manager here at Betty's Daycare.

I have now been with the Betty's Daycare Team since 2017Just before joining, I was studying social care and photography at college. After completing my degree, I began work experience at The Old Station House Care Home in Oxford and then as well as The Rupert House Rupert Bears Nursery in Henley. From this experience, I realised that I enjoy being present for a child's first learning experiences and aiding them in becoming more educated and complete.

I am a very patient and caring person and I feel that this allows me to build good relationships with the children, their parents and work colleagues and aids in my ability to manage groups of children with mixed ability and behavioural patterns.

I am actively making sure the children in my care are in a consistently safe, secure and stimulating environment.

My hobbies include yoga, photography and interior decorating. I believe I have a very bubbly and positive personality which keeps me cheerful and hard working.
